Vulvovaginal Disorders & Female Sexual Pain Defined.

This in-person course will thoroughly explain diagnoses pertaining to female sexual pain and vulvovaginal pain disorders. Leading sexual medicine expert, Dr. Andrew Goldstein, will expand every medical practitioner's knowledge of the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of sexual/vulvovaginal/pelvic pain to facilitate better care in your clinic and improvement for your patients. Learn to diagnose and treat vulvar dermatoses such as lichen sclerosus and lichen planus, to distinguish differences between the many different causes of vulvodynia, and how to evaluate and treat recalcitrant vulvovaginitis.  Learn to navigate Dr. Goldstein’s vulvovaginal and vulvodynia algorithm which has become the gold-standard diagnostic and treatment algorithm for conditions such as hormonally mediated vestibulodynia, neuroproliferative vestibulodynia, PGAD, pudendal neuralgia, overactive pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, and desquamative inflammatory vaginitis.  Dr. Goldstein will examine evidence based research and will also shine a light on cutting edge research.

This course invites all sexual medicine providers including: MD's, NP's, PA's, PT's, PTA's, and students.

Course Objectives
  • Understand evidence-based nomenclature surrounding vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, various sub-types of pelvic pain including dermatological conditions. 
  • Understand the prevalence of dyspareunia and frequent co-morbidities
  • Define the most common causes and appearances of vulvar dermatological conditions
  • Identify vulvar and pelvic floor anatomy involved in various disorders of pelvic pain
  • Conduct a medical history and physical examination that can help determine the etiology of genitourinary syndrome of menopause
  • Understand the various treatment options available for treated vulvar disorders, including psychological, physical therapy, medical, and surgical treatments
