This one-day lab is designed to help clinicians zoom out and see the bigger picture.
Participants will learn introductory male pelvic floor anatomy, external assessment strategies, and palpation skills while also exploring how posture, lower rib mobility, intercostal angle, breathing patterns, hip mobility, abdominal wall tension, and pelvic girdle mechanics may contribute to symptoms.
This course is not designed to make clinicians experts in one day. It is designed to give clinicians a clear starting framework, improve palpation confidence, and help them begin connecting orthopedic and pelvic floor findings in a practical, clinically useful way.
Through lecture, demonstration, lab practice, and case-based discussion, participants will leave with a more complete way to assess male pelvic health patients and begin developing treatment ideas that consider the whole system — not just the painful area.

Male pelvic floor anatomy and function
External assessment of posture, breathing, ribs, abdomen, hips, and pelvic girdle mechanics
Introductory male pelvic floor palpation and assessment
Pelvic pain, urinary, bowel, and sexual dysfunction patterns
Post-prostatectomy considerations
Clinical reasoning for male pelvic health patients
By the end of this course, participants will have a better understanding of how to assess the male pelvic floor within the larger system of the ribs, diaphragm, abdominal wall, hips, low back, pelvis, and pelvic floor.

Dr. Kelli Wilson is a physical therapist, pelvic health specialist, Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.
For nearly 20 years, she has treated patients with complex pelvic pain, including male pelvic pain, testicular and scrotal pain, penile pain, urinary dysfunction, bowel symptoms, sexual dysfunction, and post-prostatectomy concerns.
Her approach blends pelvic health with advanced orthopedic assessment, helping clinicians look beyond the painful area to understand how the ribs, breathing, abdominal wall, hips, low back, pelvis, nerves, and pelvic floor may all contribute to symptoms.
Through Alcove Education, Dr. Wilson teaches clinicians practical, hands-on assessment and treatment strategies they can immediately apply in the clinic.
